A BSc Computer Student clinched the HSBC Overseas Scholarship 2021/22
Mr Harvey Ng Ming-hin, a BSc Computer Science student, was among the five awardees for the HSBC Overseas Scholarship 2021/22 after outperforming many other candidates in this highly competitive scholarship award. The student received HK$300,000 to support his studies on the joint bachelor’s degree programme at Columbia University, US. Two BSc Computer Science students won the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2021
Mr Xavier Yeung Yuen-hei and Mr Harvey Ng Ming-hin, two BSc Computer Science students, were among the 25 winners for the Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2021 after successfully outshining many other candidates in the vigorous selection process. The students will each receive HK$150,000 for activities including overseas exchange, local internship and mentorship programmes. Certificate of Merit of Hong Kong ICT Awards 2020
Mr HANG Ching Nam, a BScCS 2019 graduate and a CS PhD student, received the Certificate of Merit of Hong Kong ICT Awards 2020: Student Innovation Award for his final year project titled “Large Graph Mining: Subgraph Isomorphism,” under the supervision of Dr Chee Wei TAN. The final year project previously also won the Silver Award of HKEIA Innovation & Technology Project Competition Award 2019.
The Student Innovation Award, one of the eight categories under the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2020, aims to encourage local students to use creativity, develop and apply innovative technologies to carry out innovation projects in information and communication technology.
Best Student Paper Runner Up Award in British Machine Vision Virtual Conference (BMVC2020)
Mr TIAN Xin, a PhD student, together with his supervisor Dr Rynson LAU, received the Best Student Paper Runner Up Award for their co-authored paper titled “Weakly-supervised Salient Instance Detection” in the 31st British Machine Vision Virtual Conference (BMVC2020) held in September 2020.
Hosted by the British Machine Vision Association (BMVA), BMVC is a prestigious annual conference on machine vision, image processing, and pattern recognition.
