Professional Mentorship Programme
Objectives
- To provide a platform for students to interact with senior IT professionals in Hong Kong.
- To gain exposure to different areas in IT, e.g. software development, support, networking, project management, etc., as well as obtain guidance to shape students' career paths.
- To provide an opportunity for students to develop communication and soft skills.
Benefits for Students

Duration, Activities and Period
- The programme operates for a duration of 10 months.
- Regular Meetings between mentors and mentees can be in any format ranging from touring around mentors' companies, sharing, happy hours, to attending professional activities, etc..
- Tentative schedule: October 2024 - July 2025

The Second Gathering for the Professional Mentorship Programme & the Internship Networking Event 2024
The Second Gathering for the Professional Mentorship Programme was held on 27 March 2024, in conjunction with the Internship Networking Event. Over 40 students, mentors, internship supervisors, and staff participated, connecting to share experiences and expertise. The event facilitated valuable networking and knowledge sharing within the CS community, supporting professional development through meaningful interactions.
First Gathering
The Department hosted a delightful First Gathering on November 9, 2023, bringing together 49 students, mentors, staff and guests. This was an opportunity for mentees to meet their mentors in person, exchange contacts, and forge valuable professional connections.

In April 2023, we had an amazing gathering for the Second CityU-CS Professional Mentorship Programme and Student & Alumni Networking Event. With over 60 participants, including students, alumni, mentors, faculty members, and guests, it was a lively and fruitful occasion. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone to connect, share experiences, and build valuable relationships.
