Professional Mentorship Programme
Objectives
- To provide a platform for students to interact with senior IT professionals in Hong Kong.
- To gain exposure to different areas in IT, e.g. software development, support, networking, project management, etc., as well as obtain guidance to shape students' career paths.
- To provide an opportunity for students to develop communication and soft skills.
Benefits for Students

Duration, Activities and Period
- The programme operates for a duration of 10 months.
- Regular Meetings between mentors and mentees can be in any format ranging from touring around mentors' companies, sharing, happy hours, to attending professional activities, etc..
- Tentative schedule: October 2025 - July 2026
Coordinator
First Gathering
The Department of Computer Science hosted the first gathering of the Professional Mentorship Programme on 6 November 2025, bringing together 63 participants, including mentors, mentees and BSc graduates. Mentors from leading organisations such as TCL, Meta, SmarTone, Siemens, PCCW, Biel Crystal, and AI Guided joined the event to share experiences and engage with students. The event provided opportunities to gain career insights and build meaningful professional connections.

First Gathering
The Department hosted the first gathering of the Professional Mentorship Programme on 30 October 2024, bringing together over 60 participants, including mentors, mentees, staff and MSc Electronic Commerce students. Representatives from China Mobile, Checkpoint, and Manulife shared insights into exciting career opportunities. The event fostered meaningful interactions and networking, creating valuable connections among all attendees.

The Second Gathering for the Professional Mentorship Programme & the Internship Networking Event 2024
The Second Gathering for the Professional Mentorship Programme was held on 27 March 2024, in conjunction with the Internship Networking Event. Over 40 students, mentors, internship supervisors, and staff participated, connecting to share experiences and expertise. The event facilitated valuable networking and knowledge sharing within the CS community, supporting professional development through meaningful interactions.
First Gathering
The Department hosted a delightful First Gathering on November 9, 2023, bringing together 49 students, mentors, staff and guests. This was an opportunity for mentees to meet their mentors in person, exchange contacts, and forge valuable professional connections.
