Computing and IT Skills are becoming an important competitive edge for an individual's personal and career development. As Hong Kong's work force is evolving to become highly knowledge based, possessing adequate computing skill is definitely an advantage in a graduate's capability set. The Minor in Computing provides an effective means to acquire the qualification and capability for a graduate to leverage computing and IT skill and knowledge in his/her future endeavor.

Aims and Objectives

The Minor in Computing aims to provide students with adequate education and training in the understanding and application of computing technologies and methods. After completing the Minor in Computing, a student should be able to :

  • understand the fundamentals of computing and networking technologies
  • use computing programming to solve problems
  • construct basic Internet and Web based application systems
  • know some of the current trends and issues of computing
