Silver Medal in the 46th ICPC Asia Kunming Regional Contest 2022
A team comprising Mr DAI Chenyue and Mr LI Jiaqian, BSc Computer Science students, and a student from the EE Department, won the Silver Medal in the 46th ICPC Asia Kunming Regional Contest held virtually in April 2022, under the supervision of Prof Minming LI and Dr Kenneth LEE.
The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a prestigious algorithmic programming contest for college students, which challenges participants in a team setting with real-world problems with an aim to fostering collaboration and encouraging creativity. The Contest attracted more than 800 teams from over 300 universities in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
Second Prize in the Global Final of Huawei ICT Competition 2021-2022
Miss FENG Li, a 2022 BSc Computer Science graduate, together with two members from the EE Department, won the Second Prize in the Global Final of Huawei ICT Competition 2021-2022 under the Innovation Category, for their project titled “CanSee 2.0: A Convenient, Efficient and Comprehensive Platform for Lung Cancer Diagnosis,” under the supervision of Dr Ray CHEUNG.
Russell C. Mills Award 2022
Mr Kevin XUE, a fresh graduate of the Joint Bachelor's Degree Program between City University of Hong Kong and Columbia University, received the Russell C. Mills Award for excellence in the area of computer science.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology GBA Youth Innovation Grand Prize
Mr Xu Jiakai, a Year 3 BSc Computer Science student, along with five undergraduate students from Northeastern University, won “The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology GBA Youth Innovation Grand Prize” in the 2021 Qianhai Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition held in December 2021, under the supervision of Dr Shuaicheng Li. Mr Xu was the team leader for the collaborative project titled “Intelligent Cancer Immunotherapy Platform – Deep Immune, ” which provides diagnosis and immunotherapy programs for cancer patients based on a deep learning algorithm. The achievement is a testament to the fruitful collaboration and effective teamwork.
