IEEE Fellow 2023

Prof Jianping Wang has been elevated to Fellow of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the class of 2023 for her contributions to resiliency of complex systems.

The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the Board of Directors upon a person with an extraordinary record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year does not exceed one-tenth of one percent of the total voting Institute membership.

Test of Time Award at the 20th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems (ACM SenSys 2022)

Dr Zhenjiang LI, along with his collaborators Pengfei ZHOU, Yuanqing ZHENG, Mo LI and Guobin SHEN, received the Test of Time Award at the 20th ACM Conference on Embedded Networked Sensor Systems (ACM SenSys 2022) for their research work entitled “IODetector: A Generic Service for Indoor Outdoor Detection” in recognition of its contributions to intelligent mobile location services with enduring commercial adoption and successful widespread technology transfer. The work was published ten years ago at ACM SenSys 2012.

ACM SenSys is the premium computer systems conference focused on the architecture, design, implementation, and performance of networked sensing systems, sensor-oriented data modeling and analytics, and sensor-enabled applications. The Award recognizes papers that are at least 10 years old and have had a long-lasting impact on networked embedded sensing system science and engineering.

Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC)

Prof Cong Wang has been appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC) for a three-year term starting from 1 January 2023.

TDSC is a flagship security journal of the IEEE Computer Society, which is ranked in JCR Q1 (top 10%) and has an impact factor of 6.791 and an h5-index of 63 (according to Google Scholar Metrics). TDSC focuses on research into foundations, methodologies, and mechanisms that support the achievement, through design, modeling, and evaluation of systems and networks that are dependable and secure to the desired degree without compromising performance. The focus also includes measurement, modeling, and simulation techniques, and foundations for jointly evaluating, verifying, and designing for performance, security, and dependability constraints.

IEEE計算機學會(IEEE Computer Society)近日宣布香港城市大學電腦科學系王聰教授當選IEEE可靠和安全計算期刊 (IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing -TDSC) 新一任的主編(Editor-in-Chief),任期三年,自2023 年 1 月 至2025年12月。

IEEE可靠和安全計算期刊TDSC是計算機及網絡安全、可信計算等研究領域的國際權威學術期(2022年影響因子: 6.791, 中科院SCI期刊分區計算機科學大類2區Top期刊,中國計算機學會CCF推薦的A類頂級期刊),主要關注安全可靠系統與網絡的設計、建模以及評估研究,發表相關的基礎理論、技術方法以及機制的前沿研究成果。期刊亦關注用於評估檢驗系統與網絡性能、安全性、可靠性之間約束關係的相關測量、建模和仿真技術與基礎理論。近年IEEE TDSC在廣大計算機及網絡空間安全學者高質量研究成果的支持下得到了迅速發展,影響力逐漸增强。在未來期望繼續收到各學者的優秀學術論文,以促進IEEE TDSC影響力的提升,共同推動安全研究領域的進步與發展。

王聰教授,IEEE Fellow, 入選2021年斯坦福大學全球前2%頂尖科學家。王聰教授專注於數據和網絡安全、區塊鏈和去中心化應用以及隱私增強技術的研究,已在國際一流期刊和會議上發表了170餘篇論文,獲得了2020年IEEE INFOCOM Test of Time論文獎、2020年IEEE ICDCS最佳論文獎、2017年IEEE ICDCS最佳學生論文獎、2018年IEEE ICPADS最佳論文獎以及2015年IEEE MSN最佳論文獎。王聰教授現任IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC)、IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (TSC)、IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IoT-J)等多個IEEE國際期刊的編委,並曾擔任多個IEEE國際會議程序委員會主席。王聰教授的研究得到了多個政府研究基金機構的支持,包括國家自然科學基金委員會、香港研究資助委員會和香港創新技術委員會。王聰教授是香港青年科學院創始成員之一,入選2021年香港研究資助局研究學者計劃,獲得了香港城市大學2019年度傑出研究獎、2017年度傑出導師獎以及2019年、2016年校長嘉許獎。

Rising Star Award 2021

Dr Weitao Xu received the Rising Star Award 2021 from China Chapter of ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded Systems (SIGBED). Two young scholars in the greater China area were elected for the Award in 2021 in recognition of their notable achievements and outstanding research potential in the field of Computer Science.
