J. David Irwin Early Career Award 2019 from the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES)
Dr Gerhard Petrus HANCKE received the J. David Irwin Early Career Award 2019 from the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) for “research and educational contributions and impact on secure and reliable technology for the Industrial Internet-of-Things."
The Award is to recognize young researchers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the field of industrial electronics within the first 10 years of professional experience.
Norbert Wiener Award 2019
Prof Jun Wang received the 2019 Norbert Wiener Award for his outstanding contributions to the theory, methodology, and applications of neurodynamic optimization, and the Outstanding Contribution Award for his contribution serving as the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics from 2014 to 2019, both from the IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC) Society.
Best Paper Award in the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) 2019
Dr Shiqi WANG received the Best Paper Award for his co-authored paper titled “Towards Digital Retina in Smart Cities: A Model Generation, Utilization and Communication Paradigm” in the IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME) 2019 held in Shanghai, China in July 2019.
ICME, sponsored by four IEEE societies, is a prestigious conference to provide a forum for exchanges of the latest advances in multimedia technologies, systems, and applications. An exposition of multimedia products, prototypes and animations was also held in conjunction with the conference in 2019.
Best Paper Award 2019 for the IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine
Miss Jingyi ZHANG, a PhD student, and her supervisor Dr Gerhard HANCKE, together with Dr Bo CHENG, a 2016 PhD graduate, received the Best Paper Award 2019 for the IEEE Industrial Electronics Magazine, for their co-authored paper titled “Industrial Cyberphysical Systems: Realizing Cloud-Based Big Data Infrastructures,” awarded by the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES).
