Early Career Award
Dr Junhui Hou is awarded the Early Career Award in recognition of his outstanding proposal titled “Towards Immersive 3-D Telepresence: Compact Light-Field Representation and Beyond” in the Early Career Scheme (ECS) category in 2018-19, which is set up by the Research Grant Council (RGC) for supporting junior faculty members early in their academic careers.
IET Software Premium Award 2018
Dr Jacky KEUNG together with Dr Arif Ali KHAN, a CS PhD graduate, received the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Software Premium Award for their co-authored paper titled “Systematic review of success factors and barriers for software process improvement in global software development” in the journal of IET Software.
Each year the IET awards a prize to the authors of the best paper published within the last two years in each of the IET’s journals. Dr Keung’s paper is the only Best Paper in the category of Software Engineering received such a prestigious award.
Prof Qingfu ZHANG named Highly Cited Researcher 2017
Seven faculty members from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been selected for the list of Highly Cited Researchers announced by Clarivate Analytics for 2017.
The annual list recognises leading researchers in the sciences and social sciences around the world. The list is published by Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters.
CityU-led cloud security project attracts $6m in funding
A research project led by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) aiming at enhancing security and privacy for cloud storage has been awarded HKD5.98 million from the Collaborative Research Fund of the Research Grants Council in the 2016-17 exercise.
