Prof Qingfu ZHANG named Highly Cited Researcher 2017
Seven faculty members from City University of Hong Kong (CityU) have been selected for the list of Highly Cited Researchers announced by Clarivate Analytics for 2017.
The annual list recognises leading researchers in the sciences and social sciences around the world. The list is published by Clarivate Analytics, formerly the Intellectual Property and Science business of Thomson Reuters.
CityU-led cloud security project attracts $6m in funding
A research project led by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) aiming at enhancing security and privacy for cloud storage has been awarded HKD5.98 million from the Collaborative Research Fund of the Research Grants Council in the 2016-17 exercise.

Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Achievement Award 2016
Prof Jun WANG received the Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Achievement Award in Shenzhen, China in December 2016 in recognition of his significant contributions to early concepts and sustained developments in the field of neural networks in particular and artificial intelligence as a whole.
Initiated by the Chinese Artificial Intelligence Association and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Award is conferred upon individuals who have made great breakthroughs and outstanding contributions in the field of intelligence science and technology.
Highly Cited Researcher 2016 and IEEE Fellow 2017
Prof Qingfu ZHANG has been named by Thomson Reuters in the list of "Highly Cited Researchers 2016" in the field of Computer Science and has been elevated to IEEE Fellow, effective from January 2017, for his contributions to multi-objective evolutionary computation methodologies.
According to Thomson Reuters, "Highly Cited Researchers 2016" represents some of the world's most influential scientific minds. The 2016 list focuses on contemporary research achievement: only Highly Cited Papers in science and social sciences journals indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection during the 11-year period 2004-2014 were surveyed. Highly Cited Papers are defined as those that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science.
