Student Activities

To encourage students to obtain the qualification on English capability by attending the English language tests, namely the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic Module) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Department is launching the CityU-CS English Proficiency Test Sponsorship Scheme 2020-2021 to subsidize students to take the English proficiency tests.

The virtual Opening cum First Gathering of CityU-CS Professional Mentorship Programme 2020-21 was held on 27 October 2020 to provide an online platform for mentors and mentees for sharing and interaction. We were honored to have Mr Raymond Cheng, the former Chairman of the Departmental Advisory Committee (DAC) and the initiator of the Programme, and Prof Ted Suen MH, the current DAC Chairman, delivering the opening remarks to kick-start this year’s Programme. Over 60 students, mentors and staff participated in this virtual gathering.

To broaden students' international perspective and enrich your exposure to the latest development in the information technology, the Department is organizing the "Big Data Analytics Summer Experience in USA 2020" in the summer of 2020.
