About Me

I am currently a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong, advised by Prof. Chun Jason Xue. Before coming to CityU, I received my B.Eng. degree in Computer Science and Technology in 2013 and M.Sc. degree in High Reliability Embedded System in 2017 from Capital Normal University.

Research Interests

My research focuses on the storage systems aspects of machine learning. While machine learning (ML) is enjoying rapidly increasing adoption over the last few years, designing and implementing the storage systems that support ML in real-world deployments is increasingly a major bottleneck. This opens up the opportunity for research at the intersection of storage system and machine learning, a topic I intend to explore for my doctoral dissertation. My study investigates how to rearchitect the system and application software from the ground-up to take advantage of non-volatile memory (NVM), in-storage computing technologies to support the training and execution of models in ML.
