Walking around Shinjuku

Shinjuku Cat Billboard

Our adventure in Shinjuku began with a visit to the iconic 3D cat billboard. As we approached the bustling intersection, we were immediately drawn to the massive screen displaying a lifelike, larger-than-life cat. It was a stunning example of how Japan seamlessly integrates cutting-edge digital art into its urban landscape.

Ougisushi Delights

Rejuvenated by the captivating display, my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to an authentic sushi experience at Ougisushi. As we stepped into the cozy eatery, we were immediately enveloped by the rich aromas of fresh seafood and vinegared rice. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of Ougisushi added to the delight, making it a memorable culinary highlight of our trip.

Golden Gai's Hidden Charms

Our journey then took us to the narrow alleyways of Golden Gai, a historic area renowned for its nightlife and unique charm. As we wandered through the labyrinth of tiny bars and eateries, each with its own distinct personality, we were transported back in time. The retro ambiance and intimate settings made it easy to strike up conversations with both locals and fellow travelers. The vibrant energy of Golden Gai, with its eclectic mix of music and laughter spilling out into the streets, was a testament to Shinjuku’s rich cultural tapestry and its ability to preserve its historical essence amidst modernity.
