Minor in Computing

Curriculum Overview


For Catalogue Term of Semester B, 2025/2026 and thereafter

A student can apply for the Minor in Artificial Intelligence award provided that the student satisfies the following:

  • having acquired 15 credits of minor requirement courses with an average GPA of 2 or higher; and
  • of the courses taken that constitute the 15 credits in 1 above, the following constraints should be observed:

Minimum CGPA requirements for declaring the Minor: To be eligible, applicants must have achieved a CGPA of 3.0 or above, and should seek advance approval from their home department.

Pre-requisite requirements for declaring the Minor: Applicants should pass one of the following courses before declaring the Minor.

  • CS2311 Computer Programming or
  • CS2313 Computer Programming or
  • CS2360 Java Programming

Students who study the following Majors cannot take the Minor in Artificial Intelligence:

  • Computer Science
  • Cybersecurity
  • Computer Science and Computational Finance and Financial Technology

A student who intends to take the Minor in Artificial Intelligence should seek approval from his/her home department and the Department of Computer Science.
