Distinguished Fellow
Chun was conferred the Distinguished Fellow title by the Hong Kong Computer Society, joining the ranks of only 29 other esteemed individuals in the history of the Society. Chun was nominated by Ir. Daniel Lai BBS, JP and Prof. Louis C.K. Ma.
Outstanding Performance of IT Excellence Award
This award recognizes individuals who contributed in bringing new technology and innovation to create business transforming opportunities. Dr. Chun was selected by peers as one of five persons to receive this award. Judging was based on strategic vision, leadership, social contribution, and research. The award was presented to Dr. Chun by Mr. Charles Mok (莫乃光), Legislative Councillor (IT).
Premier 100 IT Leader
Dr. Chun was named one of USA Computerworld's "Premier 100 IT Leaders." This year's Premier 100 spotlights leaders from both the technology and business sides of companies for their exceptional technology leadership and innovative approaches to business challenges. The Premier 100 program was created in 2000 to spotlight individuals who have had a positive impact on their organizations through technology. Hong Kong CIO Award
The awards program seeks to identify standout leaders of IT who demonstrate outstanding vision and execution in their role as a CIO and technology leader in Hong Kong and the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Chun was one of two recipients of the 2012 HK CIO Awards, and was indentified by the judges as "an innovative leader in the transfomational use of IT in education and his vision of the future in how to shape his organization through emerging technology." China Top 5 CIO Award
The annual "China Top CIO Award" is the most well-respected and authoritative award for the IT industry in Greater China. Dr. Chun was selected by peers as one of the top 5 CIOs in greater China region for 2010. Mr. Xu Yu (徐愈), Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Department of Informatisation Promotion, presented the awards. This year's theme was "New IT Milestone: From Business Optimization to Social Change" recognizing CIOs who were able to optimize business to meet social change. [info]
Outstanding IT Achiever Awards
This is an inaugural award from the HK Computer Society to recognize individual achievements and contributions to IT. Dr. Chun is one of 8 persons who received awards, and the only person to receive two awards - for IT research and IT professional. The award was presented to Dr. Chun by Mrs. Rita Lau (劉吳惠蘭), Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development. [info]
EDN Asia Innovator Award
Nominated by a group of international peers, this prestigious annual award from the EDN Asia Magazine recognizes technology innovators in this region. Dr. Chun received the EDN Asia Innovator Award for his work in promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in this region.
