Project Goal

Apply the Multimedia technique to recognize the static hand sign language from video capture and output the corresponding speech from the computer

Project Scope

• Capture the hand sign language into digital video and recognize the corresponding sign language.
• The recognized sign language will be output into an audio speech.
• Only static hand sign language will be covered.

Sign language gestures (4 categories)

• SPSL – static posture, static hand location
• DPSL – dynamic posture, static hand location
• SPDL – static posture, dynamic hand location
• DPSL – dynamic posture, dynamic hand location
