on final year projects in two areas: 
(1) information retrieval

(2) Data mining, (3) Database searching methods for biological databases.

The folowing are Three  examples:
(1)  Title: Intelligence Internet Search Engine
     Problem: when using  search engines, one gets lots
     of useless results. How to automatically select
     usefull results?

     Objective:   Aim at building a system that can obtain the
                  results that  the user wants.
     Method:  Learning by examples. After search, the user looks
     at some (very few) web pages and tells which one is good
     and which one is bad. Then some math methods will be used
     to quickly improve the quality of the search.
     (I have very concrete ideas and am sure that this will
     lead to a good system.)
     


(2)  Title:     Data mining methods  for finding genetic diseases 
     Objective: We will design a software for finding regions in chromosomes that course genetic diseases using some data mining techniques. 
                I have very concrete ideas to do the project. It is relative easy to get high grade for doing this one.

(3) Title:    Searching methods for biogical databases
    Ovjective: In this project, we will design methods for searching biogical databases to identify useful information. For example, we can do 
3D structure search to identify all protein binding sites. Again, I have very concrete ideas to do the project. 
It is relative easy to get high grade for doing this one.

2. Internet applications.
