Xiao-Yong Wei is a senior research associate with the Dept. of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong, and a senior member of the Video Retrieval Group (VIREO), under the supervision of Dr. Chong-Wah Ngo. He received his Ph.D from City University of Hong Kong in 2009, his M.Eng. degree in Computer Science from Yunnan University in 2006, and his B.Eng. degree in Construction Engineering from Kunming University of Science and Technology in 2000. He worked as a Software Architect and also a Software Dept. Manager at Para Telecom Ltd., China from 2000 to 2003. He was a Research Assistant in the Dept. of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong in 2005. His research interests include video computing, multimedia information retrieval, biometrics, and software engineering.
