Profile

I received my B.E. degree in Computer Science and Technology with first class honors from Tsinghua University, Beijing, P. R. China, in 2004. Now I am a master candidate in Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, under the supervision of Prof. Dongsheng Wang. At the same time, I'm visiting Prof. Xiaotie Deng and Dr. Duncan Wong as a research associate at City University of Hong Kong.

My CV is available here.

Dec. 2005 每 Nov. 2006     Research Assistant in Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong

Research Experience

Feb. 2005 每 Present        EC (Elliptic Curve) Based and Pairing-Based Crypto-devices for Intellectual Property Rights Protection We designed new architecture for computations on elliptic curves using FPGA. This implementation needed less than 50 microseconds to compute a scalar multiplication on elliptic curves defined on GF(2^163), and this result was among the best to that day. On the other hand, our implementation was highly reconfigurable for kinds of parameters such as different elliptic curves and reduction polynomials.

Jul. 2005 每 Sep. 2006     Certificateless Signature and Encryption Schemes   We proposed new security models for certificateless signature and encryption schemes, which allowed the malicious KGC to launch attacks when generating public parameters. We showed that several certificateless encryption and signature schemes proposed previously were insecure under the new models. We also proved that there were two generic constructions proposed recently for certificateless signature and encryption respectively, which were secure under our new models.

May. 2005 每 Oct. 2006     Identity-based Identification and Signature Schemes We proposed a simple and efficient framework for constructing IBI schemes. Unlike some related framework which constructs IBI schemes from some standard identification schemes, our framework is based on some more fundamental assumptions on intractable problems. Depending on the features of the underlying intractable problems presumed in our framework, we can derive IBI schemes secure against passive, active and concurrent adversaries. We show that the framework can capture a large class of schemes currently proposed, and also has the potential to cover many newly constructed schemes.

Nov. 2004 每 Oct. 2005     High-Performance Packet Classification with Hardware Acceleration in Gigabits Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) We designed high-performance architecture using FPGA for packet classification in NIDS. It could handle thousands of classification rules concurrently, with a throughput up to several gigabytes per second. On the other hand, it was highly area-efficient, occupying less than 5% logic cells of the device.

Feb. 2004 每 Jul. 2004      Bachelor Thesis: Memory Management in Large Scale Video Servers based on Itanium My undergraduate thesis was at the same time the research report for Intel Students Research Contest. I improved the Interval algorithm for memory management of video servers, and proposed a dynamic model to estimate the workload in video servers.
