Howard Leung is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at City University of Hong Kong. He received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, Canada, in 1998, the M.Sc. degree and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1999 and 2003 respectively.  Throughout his graduate studies, he was with the Advanced Multimedia Processing Lab.  His current research interests include Pattern Recognition, Multimedia and Image Processing, Intelligent Tools for Chinese Handwriting Education, 3D Human Motion Analysis and Retrieval, Web-Based Learning Technologies.  He is supervising the 3D Motion Capture Laboratory. He is the Treasurer of Hong Kong Web Society and the Treasurer of ACM-HK.

3D MOTION CAPTURE LABORATORY

Currently I am supervising the 3D Motion Capture Laboratory. The 3D Motion Capture Laboratory provides the state of the art technology for recording human movement in 3D. It is equipped with an optical motion capture system to support the real-time capture of 3D human motions. This technology has been adopted in applications such as animation and movie production.
