Sep 2007 A new version of ECSM IP core is out now. It is significantly faster than the previous version. Performing one scalar mutliplication now takes only 12.5us. Jun 2007 Our first version of Bilinear Pairing (eta_T Pairing) IP core is out. The simulated speed is 8.17us, which is the best result ever reported. May 2007 Our first version of ECSM IP core is available. It performs one elliptic curve scalar multiplication operation over GF(2¹⁶³) in 32.3μs (based on the simulated result reported by Xilinx ISE 9.1i). To the best of our knowledge, this is the fastest implementation currently known.

ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) and Bilinear Pairing are the core technologies for building high-speed security applications, next-generation public key cryptosystems such as Identity-Based Cryptosystems and Certificateless Cryptosystems, and many new cryptographic systems.

ECC has been well recognized for its strong number-theoretic foundation. It has also been standardized internationally, and is especially favored in applications for low-power devices and high-speed public-key cryptographic systems since it provides significantly high security per bit.

Bilinear pairing is an enabling technology for constructing next-generation cryptosystems which include Identity-Based and Certificateless Cryptosystems. It also facilitates the construction of some highly efficient cryptographic solutions, such as short signature, signcryption, key establishment, etc.
