The quality of software has an important bearing on the financial
and safety aspects in our daily lives. Unfortunately, software
systems often fail to deliver according to promises. It is well
known that there are still unresolved errors in many of the software
systems that we are using every day. The Asia-Pacific region is far
from being immune to these problems. The prime objective of the
conference is to provide a forum to bring together researchers and
practitioners to address this issue seriously.
As a major international forum for quality software in the
Asia-Pacific region,
APAQS 2000 was a great
success. The conference attracted about 100 participants from
various parts of the world. Sixty-six papers were received from
twenty countries from both within and outside the Asia-Pacific
region. Thirty-three quality papers were selected by an
international program committee for presentation.
The proceedings was published by IEEE Computer Society Press.
Following the success of
APAQS 2000, the
conference will be held again on 10-11 December 2001 in Hong Kong.
