Program
The Student Research and Career Day is an annual event organized by ACM (Hong Kong Chapter). It aims to provide students exposures to conferences and to setup a connection between students and industries in the field. By presenting their work, postgraduate students in the computer science/engineering discipline from all universities in Hong Kong and Macau can gain experience in sharing their work and set up potential collaboration. The event also provides a bi-directional channel for the leading companies to contact top undergraduate/postgraduate students and for the students who are seeking career in the industry to gain career information from the companies.
The forthcoming Student Research and Career Day will be held on March 14, 2009 at The Hong Kong Baptist University.
Events in the Student Research and Career Day can be divided into three main parts. Students can gain more information about the research field and career in related disciplines through the events.

  • Oral Presentations. Each institute is invited to nominate up to two candidates for the competition. The candidates will submit a paper summarizing their current research and give an oral presentation on the Student Research and Career Day.

  • Posters and Demos. Postgraduates of all local universities in Hong Kong and Macau are invited to submit posters and demos for presenting their late-breaking results, ongoing research projects, and speculative or innovative work in progress. They can explore the possibility of collaboration in the event.

  • Career Day. Undergraduate or postgraduate students in computer science/engineering related disciplines can get career information from leading companies in the field.
Deadline for Submission: Feb 7, 2009
