Distributed Computing and Wireless Networking

There are two research streams in this group, distributed computing and wireless networking. The distributed computing stream includes distributed systems, distributed algorithms, P2P systems, grid computing, web servers, and Internet technologies. The wireless networking stream includes mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), wireless sensor networks, and wireless mesh networks. We specially focus on the research issues such as localized algorithms, topology control, geographical routing, real-time data aggregation, channel assignment, and routing protocols. We have a research lab on mobile ad hoc and sensor networks (MACS) (http://macs.cs.cityu.edu.hk), led by Prof Frances Yao (http://www.cs.cityu. edu.hk/~fyao).
