IS6522 Infrastructure and Security Management for eCommerce

Course Aims & Objectives:
This course examines key infra-structural and security issues involved in Electronic Commerce transactions. A managerial perspective will be adopted throughout. Both electronic payment infrastructure and transactional security infrastructure will be covered. On completion of this course students should be able to a) understand security and payment infra-structures for Electronic Commerce; b) understand the role and structure of Certification Authorities; c) understand key security and audit concepts in the context of EC systems; d) understand good security management and audit principles in the conduct of EC; e) apply good security management principles to the design and operation of EC systems; f) understand the key legal issues involved in electronic contracting and payments and g) participate in the design of EC security policies within organizations.
