Admissions

* To enter the MSEC, students will need to have either one of the following qualifications:

a recognised bachelor's degree in a Computing discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology); or
a recognised bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Electronic Engineering, Economics and Finance, Applied Mathematics, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Information Technology), preferably with applicable IT experience; or
have obtained a good alternative qualification with substantial IT professional experience acceptable to the University; and
sufficient command of the English Language.

Classes

The average number of contact hours is 6 or 9 hours per week. Classes are usually held during weekday evenings from 6:30pm - 9:30pm or 2 weekday evenings and a Saturday afternoon. All classes are conducted by academic staff from the Faculties at the CityU main campus.

Education Loan

Successful applicants are eligible to apply for the Government's Non-means Tested Loan Scheme. Application forms are obtainable from each District Office and the Student Financial Assistance Agency.

Continuing Education Fund (CEF)

Eligible applicants will be reimbursed 80% of the course fee, subject to a maximum sum of HK$10,000, on successful completion of the course.
